Isabelle Murphy and baseball have always been the two great loves of my life. One has never let me down, but eight years ago, the other one broke my heart.

Isabelle and I met in college and forged a friendship over being the only two Canadians on our Florida campus. A friendship that quickly turned into love. Everything was going great, until she went to Italy for spring break.

Two weeks turned into two months. Then two months turned into forever.

But now she’s back in my life. And off-limits, in more ways than one. The head coach of the Vancouver Tridents, my team, has made it clear. No one messes with Isabelle.

The problem is, resisting the one woman to ever see the real me, the only woman I’ve ever imagined a future with, is next to impossible. The friendship we built our relationship on proves to be strong enough to work through the pain of our past. And it’s clear our physical chemistry never died.
